A local developer had hoped to join with Wal-Mart and expand its fleet of smaller format stores, known as Neighborhood Markets. The Markets are like mini-Supercenters, one fifth the size, but offer the same low prices as the superstores while being located in smaller and more accessible locations. Mozingo + Wallace offered the images on this page as an update to the Wal-Mart standard. The exterior is not so Wal-Mart save the presentation of its logo, adjusting and giving a modem and inventive breadth to the surrounding architecture.
