Kingstree First Baptist Church is a cornerstone of the Kingstree community with traditional Southern Baptist Church roots developing more into a blended church progressively positioning itself as a church of choice to find Jesus.
The church’s main campus is located three blocks from the historic center of Kingstree, the county seat of Williamsburg County. Williamsburg County has approximately 36,000 citizens, and the town of Kingstree has approximately 3,400 citizens. The Congregation was organized in 1858 with a sanctuary built in the early 1900’s, and a three-story education building added in 1956. Later in 1970 the church added a two-story educational building, which currently serves as the primary Sunday school space. In 1988 they built their present sanctuary, adjacent to the two-story building. In 2013, the “old sanctuary” was demolished along with the three-story building. The church has just recently completed construction of a Family Life Center ($2.1 million+ project) and celebrated its dedication to the Lord in January of 2015.
