Bubba's Fishcamp and Smokehouse is the re-imagining of an existing restaurant. The original building was very traditional in style and materials (stucco with stone veneer accents) so Mozingo + Wallace roughed it up a bit to fit the style of the new owner. The restaurant now has the appearance of a well-used water front warehouse, with a few fishin' shacks thrown in. This is accomplished through the use of 'pre-rusted' metal siding, sun-bleached wood trim, some signage done with faded paint colors, and a few accessories such as worn out fish nets and a couple of water-logged boats. The front door is trimmed out with oyster shell filled fish traps. The unique look was done so that this restaurant stands out, especially since it has to complete with one of the city's main shopping and dining destinations across the street. By the way, the seafood and barbeque is delicious!
