In 2002, Burroughs & Chapin Company requested design proposals from several local architects for a complex fronting the Intracoastal Waterway at its Grande Dunes development. The program included a hotel and conference center, retail, restaurants, condominiums and a Marina. These were all done in the Mediterranean style that predominates in the Grande Dunes development. The M+W proposal contains separate districts for the programmed requirements, and connects them all with walkways and pedestrian plaza, capitalizing on views of the marina and the waterway.
