Mozingo + Wallace remains committed in the service to community. We appreciate the support received from our friends and neighbors, thus giving back to help others is important to us.
Both partners are Past Chairmen of their respective hometown Planning Commission Boards: S. Derrick Mozingo, in Myrtle Beach, and Gerald Wallace, in Conway, South Carolina. Collectively, they have dedicated over 15 years of service, and have led the efforts to update each community’s Zoning and Comprehensive Plans. Each rewrite ensures that the community is respectful of development as well as its citizens, and that all areas grow in a responsible and appropriate manner.
S. Derrick Mozingo, Jr. has held leadership roles in both the local as well as the state American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Chapters. Gerald Wallace has maintained a mentoring role with the local school system, providing guidance to a multitude of students interested in pursuing a career in architecture or engineering.
Both Principals are active members in their churches, as well as other beneficial community organizations.
The firm Mozingo + Wallace has provided services, Pro Bono or at significantly reduced cost, to organizations who otherwise would not have such access. Through this work, we have sought to help others by addressing basic human needs – food, shelter, health, education and empowerment.
A few of the Pro Bono projects are:
– Dr. Seuss Pavilion (Brookgreen Garden)
– Elizabeth Chapin Patterson Community Center
– Grand Strand Humane Society
– Grand Strand Miracle League
– Conway Visitor Center (Quattlebaum Office)
– Kingston Presbyterian Church Education Center
– Conway Hardware Restoration (Downtown Historic District)
